Katherine Qiyu Su

Biography

Katherine Qiyu Su (b. 1999, Beijing) is a London-based artist whose work navigates the shifting terrain between figuration and abstraction through explorations of memory, perception, and emotional residue. She received her MA in Painting from the Royal College of Art in 2023 and has since exhibited widely across Europe and the United States. Su’s recent and forthcoming solo exhibitions include The Ghost in You at Future Gallery, Berlin (2025); Night Landing at Half Gallery, New York (2025); How Far is the Foreign Lands at Half Gallery, New York (2024); and Summer Phantoms of Desire at Edge Art Space Gallery, Turin (2024). Her work has also been featured in numerous international group exhibitions, including presentations at Flowers Gallery (London), Nino Mier Gallery (Miami and Brussels), PM/AM (London), Phillips (New York), The Armory Show (New York), and MEGA Art Fair (Milan).

Su is the recipient of the 2024 Artsy Foundation Prize, and her practice has been covered by Artsy, Art Plugged, and additional publications. Rooted in a nuanced engagement with fragmentation, negative space, and perceptual drift, her paintings invite viewers into suspended psychological landscapes where meaning remains fluid, open, and quietly resonant.
