Biography

Clara Hastrup is a London-based artist. She graduated with a BA (Honours) in Fine Art – Painting/Printmaking from Glasgow School of Art in 2016 and received a Postgraduate Diploma in Fine Arts from the Royal Academy Schools, London, in 2021.

Hastrup’s recent exhibitions include Everything Reacts at Strange Cargo, Folkestone (2024), Fishphonics: Accelerando at MATTA, Milan (2024), and Organic Behaviour at LAMB Gallery, London (2023). Earlier solo presentations include Fool me, fool me at Incubator22, London (2022), Tomato Potato at Quench Gallery, Margate (2022), and Prickly Tunes at UK Mexican Art Society, London (2022).

 

In 2026 she will present work as part of the Mark Tanner Sculpture Award at Standpoint Gallery, London. Hastrup has received numerous grants and awards, including support from the Danish Arts Foundation, Arts Council England, the Elephant Trust, and the Gilbert Bayes Charitable Trust for Sculptors.
